What software is there, preferably free, that I can use to record video tutorials of software development?

I want to record a portion of the screen with introductory slides (cover page) and be able to record the mouse and voice over and save as flash or some movie file. thanks!

you can download Wondershare DemoCreator for a free trial.

It can record desktop screen activities, including the movements of mouse, then creates flash-based demo and software simulations. And the captured screenshots are editable. you can add insteractive elements, such as button, vioce, annotation, to guide your audience.

download it free from
