Hi, I am planning to start searching for my next job but I have still got few months. I am not sure if there will be many jobs (ASP.NET C# developer) in July. I am thinking that new financial year starts in April, so there will be more jobs available in April, May but I am not sure?
What the best time (month) to find a IT (software development) job? What will be the chances in July?
In my experience as an IT recruiter, I don't think the start of the financial year has anything to do with it.
The most difficult time of the year to find a job is July and August, because many people take their holidays then so it usually takes more time for you to move through the interview process as interviewers are away, and then if you are made an offer it will also take a long time for this to go through all the approvals.
Other than that, the rest of the year is pretty constant.
Reply:It always takes a few months to land a job anyway, so start searching now even if you're not ready to make a move. You'll get an idea of what's out there now and what might become available. Since you're in IT you may reach out to some people/employers who are willing to maintain email relationships during the time you are currently employed until you're ready to make the move...
There is no specific time of year, in my opinion, that hiring for the IT industry is greater than other times of the year. Avoid job-seeking in late summer and December holidays for any job types.
I'll try to attach a link to a graphic re: software development job trends. See below. I hope that helps.
